BOSTON AUDIO SOCIETY
May 2010 Meeting
Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010
Time: 6:00 PM
Place: Boston University, Life Science & Engineering
Bldg, 24 Cummington St., 1st Floor Conference Room (Room 103) Boston MA,
02126, (617) 271-6588
Featured Guests: You, the Members
Topic: Favorite or otherwise interesting audio recordings, CD swap
PART I - BAS Member Micha Schatner will play
some 'white' noise results from a few of the microphones he tested at the
November, 2009 BAS Microphone Clinic. In the test a loudspeaker played white
noise outdoors while the microphone-under-test was rotated in the noise
field. The output of each microphone was recorded versus time. Micha will
provide explanations of what the data shows and means in the real world.
PART II - This meeting is a chance for members
to share audio recordings that are special to them. The recordings can be
commercial or recordings you made of a musical group. A modest sound system
will be provided and about 10 minutes each will be allowed, depending on
the number of presenters. A video monitor will be provided for DVD playback.
This is your chance to be more than a passive member of the BAS. Also, you
can bring CDs for sale or trade.
There will be refreshments at 5:30.
