Joe DeMarinis and Alvin Foster will demonstrate the
usability of Dayton
Audio's OmniMic. It is a $300 acoustic measurement system for hi-fi
hobbyist and home theater installers. It was developed in collaboration
with Liberty Instruments, inventors of the Praxis audio analysis tool. The
OmniMic system includes a calibrated USB powered microphone, software, and
a test signal discs. Your computer provides the platform for the measurement
system. Joe will provide a report on the calibration accuracy of the included
microphone.
Some of the tests provided by the OmniMic system:
* SPL meter with A, B, & C weighting
* Spectrum analyzer, FFT, or RTA
* Frequency response
* Oscilloscope function
* Harmonic distortion: 2nd 5th harmonics & THD
