The Constellation Center will be ideally located in
Kendall Square, Cambridge, a location where innovation and entrepreneurship
occur. The Constellation Center will serve as Kendall Squares cultural
lab where music, art festivals, movies, and an assortment of public
programs will take place. The much-anticipated seven-story Center will encompass
over 230,000 square feet of interior space and five halls. Each hall will
be designed to duplicate and even exceed the acoustics found in some of
the worlds finest halls.
The Centers acoustic research team traveled worldwide
to measure the selected halls electronically.
On Wednesday, we will get an introduction to the acoustic
team and the audio-video equipment used to model the sound quality of the
best sounding halls.
The presentation will include the sampling items and
techniques used to determine hall sound microphones, software, the
placement of sound generators, and techniques to determine hall size. www.constellationcenter.org
