1. By special arrangement Acoustic
Technologies single driver loudspeakers are available to BAS members
for $400 a pair, shipping included. They gave a presentation at
the BAS in 2010.

2. I saw an ad for the Nordost
QKORE ground unit in Stereophile. It claims to be the most effective
grounding solution in the industry. Their patented Mono-Filament
technology with purpose-built Low-Voltage Attractor Plates (LVAPs)
constructed with a proprietary metal alloy and a passive electronic
circuit, draws stray high frequency noise and voltage-generated
magnetic fields to a manufactured earth point, leaving a clean reference
behind. It will drop your system's noise floor, increase harmonic
accuracy and clarity, and elevate the overall musicality. [It is
not intended to be connected to earth ground]
A reviewer says it gives tighter ...bass...a
more accurate sense of rhythmic beat. Starting at $2400.
Many years ago Mitch Cotter suggested mounting
binding posts on a heavy copper strip for grounding purposes. By
forcing the equipment chassis to a common low impedance connection
it eliminated voltage drops due to circulating currents in the cable
shields. Since in consumer equipment the signal low is the same
as the ground return, that can reduce noise . Beyond that the QKORE
seems to be voodoo science. In something like this there is always
grain of truth. The rest is fantasy.
(All Electronics is selling 100 Amp Buss
Bar on insulated base for $6.95. Might be a good start.)
