Miscellaneous News
- The new issue of the BAS Speaker has been published. It features our meeting at Q Division recording studio and an extended article on test tones with free downloads.
- In the book, Duty to Serve, Duty to Conscience, Texas veterans recount their experiences as 1-A-O (non-religious) conscientious objectors in Vietnam. They were issued ear plugs for hearing protection, but found with the extreme dust, their ears became raw and they quit using them. Later in life they had major hearing loss. Recently 3M has agreed to pay $6.01 billion to settle lawsuits by U.S. military veterans and service members who say they suffered hearing loss from using the company’s earplugs, in the largest mass tort litigation in U.S. history. The Minnesota-based company said it was not admitting liability and that the earplugs “are safe and effective when used properly.” UL30Au23
- It is really happening: I walked into the newly remodeled Best Buy at South Bay, Boston, to find that they have no recorded media. No DVD's, cd's, blu-ray discs, or UHD discs. The manager confirmed that all Best Buy stores will end up this way. Newbury Comics seems to no longer have video media. We will all be reliant on streaming if we cannot find another source of media.
