For our February meeting we will return to Goodwin's High End in Waltham to assemble in their wonderful listening room. Alan Goodwin
will talk about a hard disk recording system (for which he is a dealer) for high-resolution classical music recording. It consists of the Pacific Microsonic
A-D & D-A converters and the Genex GX-8500 hard disk recorder with removable hard disks.
We will listen to a demo playback of the same performance in 2.0 stereo and 4.0 surround utilizing Wilson loudspeakers. Peter McGrath
(known for his high quality recordings of classical music) will discuss Wilson loudspeakers and play some of his excellent recordings. Additionally,
Grant Carpenter, designer of the Gordon mic preamp, will discuss the Gordon Model Three mic preamp. If the equipment is available for the meeting, there
will be an A-B comparison of 192/24 vs. DSD of the same Performance.
Also, try to bring a small folding chair. The available seating is limited. This is a joint meeting with the Boston Audio Engineering
