The March BAS meeting will feature a presentation on copyright laws and internet governance, given by Professor Jonathan Zittrain,
Harvard Law School.
Dr. Zittrain is the Jack N. and Lillian R. Berkman Assistant Professor for Entrepreneurial Legal Studies and Faculty Co-Director
of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society, at Harvard Law School. His research interests are in: the control of digital property & content,
cryptography, electronic privacy, internet governance and technology in education. He has published extensively on the subjects of internet governance
and copyright law, in numerous law reviews, IEEE, and newspapers. His Article "Calling off the Copyright War", Boston Globe, November 24,

Professor Zittrain will be presenting "The Copyright Wars", in which he will discuss the difficult environments
facing the Recording and Movie industries. The talk will be followed by a lengthy questions and answers session.
Directions: (It is about 1/4 mile north of Volpe)
Proceed to Kendall Square [as if going to the Volpe Center]. Go to Broadway and turn onto 3rd Street [as if going to the Volpe
Parking], proceed [past the turn into Volpe Parking] to Binney Street. Turn left onto Binney Street. Go for two blocks, turn right onto 6th Street.
Proceed for two blocks, turn left on Charles Street. The Broad Institute is on your left. It is a two story tan colored building that covers the entire
city block. Park on the street either on Charles Street or Bent Street. The center is open Saturday, so if the meeting is on that day, don't park in
the assigned spaces. The entrance is at the Corner of Fulkerson and Charles Street. [On the glass it says Whitehead/MIT Center for Genome Research].
The meeting is directly inside.
