October
2022 Online + ln-person Meeting Notice |
DATE:
Sunday, October 30th, 2022, 2-4 PM Eastern /Boston time
(NOTE
DATE & TIME )
LOCATION:
KUBOTEK, USA Inc. Marlborough MA and on ZOOM
FEATURED
GUEST: Dr. Tetsuo Kubo & US President Bob
Bean - Haniwa Audio,
TOPIC:
3D Audio & Subwoofer
Make the output equal the input!
This is the driving philosophy of Haniwa. The music output
at the speaker should be the same as the input from the
recorded media, whether from a CD player, turntable, or
streaming file. Make the output equal to the input is
quite simple from a philosophy standpoint, but impossible
to achieve in typical component analog system and digital
systems. Haniwa has spent decades developing a music reproduction
system that achieves this goal wth precise timing, phase,
and frequency control that we call Ha niwa 3D Audio. We
call it 3D Audio because Haniwa recreates
a precise SD soundstage in your listening room so you
can get as close as possible to the original performance.
KUBOTEK recently added a true subwoofer
to continue its expansion into low-end realism.
Robert Bean, Haniwa Audio, said,
"Hopefully, we will see you on-line or in person.
Our product designer, Dr. Kubo, will be live' on
video from Japan, and l will be in Massachusetts. Building
on our past three BAS meetings, we will highlight the
phase coherent Haniwa speaker system. For this meeting,
we will be discussing analog front ends and other new
advancements from Haniwa tone arm development and
the CVC (Current-to-Voltage-Converter). The Haniwa CVC
allows sub-ohm cartridges to work in any system by creating
a current loop on the cartridge side and using an MM compatible
voltage output on the phono preamp side. You have probably
already seen the article in Stereophile reporting on this
brand-new type of product:
www.stereophile.com/content/analog-corner-310-haniwa-hctr-co-mkii-phono-cartridge-sw1x-lpu-i-phono-preamplifier-page-2
The current loop interacts with
the mechanical loop to produce a very stable tracking
system. Dr. Kubo will be up and awake halfway around the
globe to answer questions about his analog theories and
the CVC from the group."

Audio Samples
(these
samples are all now hosted here on the BAS website)
These are all high resolution 24/192
PCM wav files. These files were digitized from LPs using
Haniwas Current Loop Cartridge (0.2-ohm impedance)
and CVC current to voltage converter at ~.5 grams of tracking.
The samples are clips from the following
pieces:
1
BachOrgan_Sample.wav 339MB - to demonstrate
bass reproduction at low frequencies
2_TheFirebird_Sample.wav
360MB - to demonstrate spatial and sound stage in
a classical piece
3_DrumRecord_Sample.wav
196MB - to demonstrate coherency with close to ideal
step and impulse response curves
4_JohnCougar_A_Sample.wav
594MB - to demonstrate more modern rock music reproduction
5_Waterboy_A1_Sample.wav
329MB - to demonstrate spatial and sound stage in
a jazz piece
6_TheWeavers_B2_Sample.wav
514MB - to demonstrate spatial and sound stage in
a folk piece
Refreshments will be available at
3:30 PM.
